Comment:
I married Larry Alvis.  We have been married for 49 years.  We have two daughters, Sherri and Teresa.  We have three grandchildren, Lauren, Larame and Hunter.  Larry and I are both retired.  I worked at the Mercer Co. Courthouse for 35 years.   I look back and wonder where have all the years gone.  I spend a lot of time watching my grandson play basketball.
Hunter is in the 8th grade and loves basketball as much as I do.  We love the time we spend in church at Sunday School, Bible study and Choir practice.  Serving the Lord.

One of the many principles that helped to shape my life is:
PROVERBS 3:5-6   Trust in the Lord with all you heart and lean not on
your understanding: in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your path.

After graduation, I received a B.A. in psychology from Concord College, a Master’s degree in clinical psychology for WVU, and a PH.D. in social psychology from Oklahoma State University.  From 1974 to 2004, I was a member of the Psychology Department at East Tennessee State University.  Following retirement in 2004, I have traveled, played golf, and written two inspirational self help books.
In June of 1966, I married Barbara Ilene Belcher (1962 graduate of PHS), and we have four sons, three grandchildren and one on the way.  Barbara received her education in medical technology and is presently employed in the Mountain Home Veterans Hospital, Johnson City, TN. My interest and hobbies over the years have stayed pretty much the same.  I enjoy reading and playing music and golf with my sons.  Some of you may remember me as the good-looking guitar player in the Blue-chords and Pagan rock bands in the Princeton area around 1959-1964. My sons and other family members continue playing 60’s and 70’s songs and all have significant musical aptitudes.  Moreover, I have played golf with my four sons for over thirty years and they still occasionally invite me to be the D player in Captain Choice matches.
