Thanks for all of the work on the web site - I have enjoyed my virtual visits with classmates.

After graduation from PrincetonHigh School, I attended ConcordCollege for two years and then transferred to BelmontAbbeyCollege in Belmont, N.C., where I graduated from the Abbey with an AB in English and a minor in education.  My teaching career encompassed a variety of subjects and states beginning with and ending in North Carolina.  I taught in both public and private schools and enjoyed both.  While vacationing in Hawaii I met my future husband on a blind date.  Dick proposed within two weeks and we were married six weeks later in Princeton.  We have been happily married for almost forty years and have two great children.

Our son, Charles Bowen, graduated from Miami of Ohio with a MIS Degree and is currently living and working in the Columbus, Ohio area. Our daughter, Mary Margaret, graduated from Notre Dame with a degree in English; Margee earned a masters degree from OhioState and went onto earn her doctorate from the University of South Carolina. She is living and teaching in Spearfish, South Dakota.

As a military family, we have lived and traveled around the world; it has

been an exciting life.   We lived in Hawaii for three years where Dick was

stationed at Hickman AFB and I taught at St. Patrick’s school for two

years.  We caught USAF hops and traveled to Hong Kong, Thailand,

Vietnam, Taipei and the Philippines.  We were transferred to Ohio for

three years where both of our children were born and then on to

Wiesbaden, Germany where we lived for three years.  During our stay in

Germany, I learned to snow ski and visited many European countries as

well as Great Britain.  It was neat to go to Paris for the weekend!  We

returned to the USA and spent a few months in Norfolk, VA and then on

to Albuquerque, NM for two years.  We left the desert to return to

GermanyFrankfurt this time around.  We continued to travel and I

fulfilled my lifelong dream to ride a camel around the great pyramids.

We returned to the states and lived in Washington, DC for about 4 years

and then on to Wright-Patterson AFB in Dayton, Ohio.  Dick and I retired

to Wilmington, NC in 1998 and relish living at the beach.  Please know you

are welcome to visit.
